“Culture is the arts elevated to a set of beliefs.”

— Thomas Wolfe

Our Mission

As Princeton’s only undergraduate publication on foreign affairs, the Princeton Diplomat provides a unique platform for students to voice their take on the world. From detailed policy analysis to personal accounts of international experiences, we seek to bring a holistic perspective on the concept of “international.”

Our History

Originally founded as American Foreign Policy Magazine in the wake of 9/11, the Princeton Diplomat—colloquially known as “the Dip”—was created in 2019 with the aim of expanding beyond the Magazine’s long-standing focus on foreign policy analysis. While policy analysis remains a critical element of our organizational work, our writers also capture meaningful cultural experiences through personal stories, artwork, and interviews—denoted by “Borders.”
